9.1 Magnifier/ScreenReader District License

A ZoomText District License permits an organization to use multiple
copies of ZoomText in multiple locations. The district license is
provided in five-user increments, with each five-user pack containing 5
complete sets of software and documentation. An organization can
substantially decrease its per-user cost by purchasing a district
license instead of purchasing multiple single-user copies.
If all ZoomText users within the organization are located in the same
facility, a Site License can be purchased instead of a District License
(refer to the
ZoomText Site License Information).
Note: District Licenses cannot be
purchased online. For order information, please call the licensing department at 800-317-9611.
District Starter Pack
Each district license includes one Starter Pack.
The Starter Pack contains 5 single-user copies of ZoomText, each with
CD-ROM and documentation. Additional users can be added at any time by
purchasing Add-On Packs.
District Add-On Pack
If a district has more than 5 users, additional
users can be added to the district license by purchasing one or more
Add-On Packs. Each Add-On Pack contains 5 single-user copies of
ZoomText, each with CD-ROM and documentation. Add-On Packs will only be
sold to registered districts.

District License Example
A university has a total of 25 low-vision
students who use ZoomText Magnifier/ ScreenReader at three different
campuses. Purchasing ZoomText with a District License, the total would
be $7,175, versus purchasing 25 single-user copies for $14,875. That's a
savings of $7,700. |

District License Upgrades
Organizations who own earlier versions of a
ZoomText District License can upgrade to the latest version for an
upgrade fee. Upgrade costs are based on the number of users in the
district license. A major upgrade is defined as a change in the "ones"
digit of the ZoomText version number (for example 7.xx to 8.xx). A minor
upgrade is defined as a change in the "tenths" digit (for example 8.0x
to 8.1x). |

Credits for Single-User Copies
If your organization owns single-user copies of
ZoomText, a portion of the original price will be credited towards a
district license purchase. Credits for single-user copies of ZoomText
can be applied towards the purchase of any ZoomText district license.
The total credit cannot exceed the cost of the district license. |

District License Terms
In order to qualify for a district
license, an organization must abide by the following terms:
- The organization must register district
information (locations, contact person, etc.) with Ai Squared before
purchasing their first District Pack (form provided by Ai Squared).
- The software may only be installed and used
on computer systems owned by the organization.
- The number of users is limited to the total
number of five-user packages purchased.
