Simon Sounds It Out
Simon Sounds It Out teaches students phonics and phonological awareness through a friendly, patient on-screen tutor. The tutor instructs students on letter sounds and word families and helps students to use these sounds to construct words. Words are given context through pictures and animations.

The tutor systematically introduces beginning sounds and word families so that students can successfully build increasing numbers of words. The tutor tracks student progress and makes instructional decisions to optimize learning and prevent frustration.

Simon Spells
Simon Spells is an innovative program that helps students learn to spell. Children choose either Simon or Susan as their tutor, then are guided through individualized instruction and independent practice at their own pace. Throughout the program, the spelling tutor offers positive verbal and written feedback to aid in the learning process. Spelling lessons are tracked and timed to improve experience and prevent frustration.

• Includes all the Dolch vocabulary words and 500 of the words most frequently used in reading and writing.
• Tutor presents words phonemically to help with difficult words.
• Words are presented in context of sentences to increase vocabulary comprehension.
